A common complaint in many an office across Kent is that the internet is slow.

There are a few factors at play here, first your broadband bandwidth is shared with other businesses in the immediate area; this is referred to as “contention ratio”. A common contention ratio is around 20/1 which means that there could be another 19 other business all sharing elements of your broadband bandwidth. Now not all of them are using lots of their broadband at the same time in most cases but during peak hours you will find that your internet does appear to be slower than normal.

What can you do about it?

What do we mean by amazing speeds up and down?
When internet speeds are advertised they are often referring to the download speed. If your download speed is around 30MB you will often see an upload speed of around 1MB.
